Hiya! Things are busy, busy, busy these days! In history class, we’re learning all about my favorite subject – explorers! I love hearing about all about super-cool places and far-away adventures, and now that the seasons are changing, it’s easy to be an explorer!
Every day can be a new adventure!
Take a walk around your neighborhood and pick up pretty autumn leaves. Or grab some pals and go on a scavenger hunt. Heck, you don’t even have to leave your house to go an adventure! Here’s what I do when I want to get away for a little while and leave my troubles far, far away:
First, pick a quiet place in your house where you can REALLY concentrate without distractions – someplace without TVs, phones, computers or anything that buzzes, rings or beeps! Now, get cozy! I like to sit on my yoga mat – you can sit on your bed, plop down on the floor with a super-stuffed cushion, or snuggle up in a big comfy chair. Now, close your eyes – this is important, so don’t peek! Next, take a few slow, deep breaths – in through your nose, and out through your mouth. This helps to really relax you so you can start your adventure.
Now, pick your adventure spot. You can go ANYWHERE you want – like a steamy green jungle, or a cool blue ocean, or the tip-top of a mountain peak. What does it smell like? Is it noisy or quiet? Are there animals or other people to visit with? The best thing about this adventure is that you can change locations quick as a wink! Give it a try – I know you’ll love it!
Happy Exploring!
Love,
