Boo! Are YOU ready for Halloween?
From costumes and games to parties and trick-or-treating, we love dressing up and visiting our friends and neighbors on October 31st! Here are a few tips to help make this Halloween a SPOOKTACULAR day:
Be ready for weird weather.
While you may have the perfect costume picked out for trick-or-treating, Mother Nature might have other ideas. Be ready for all types of weather on Halloween, and be prepared with a jacket or rain gear in case of an autumn shower.
Always make sure you can see clearly out your costume or mask so you don’t trip, slip or bump into others. If you’re planning on trick-or-treating after dark, make sure a grown-up goes with you, and carry a small flashlight or glow sticks to help you make your way around dark streets.
Everybody loves a sweet treat – and there are LOTS of them on Halloween.
But when you stuff yourself with candy, there’s usually a stomach-ache right around the corner! Eat a nutritious meal or munch on healthy snacks BEFORE you go trick-or-treating. That way, your tummy is less tempted to taste all the sugary snacks you’re sure to pick up along the way.
Wait ‘til you get home to nibble.
Ask a grown-up to do a safety check on your candy stash before you dive in. That’s also a good time for you to sort out your favorites from the not-so-hot goodies.
